Educational material VLINDER
Students are going to analyse the observations of the VLINDER network at school. Hence they should master some basics about weather, climate, atmosphere and energy balances in order to understand why the local land use does impact for example temperature. Therefore the scientists developed educational material (for the moment only in dutch) which is freely available online.
How to use the VLINDER educational platform?
An online platform is used to offer the educational material of the VLINDER project. By going through the material on the platform students will learn about our atmosphere. Many concepts, phenomena and methods (e.g. energy balance, urban heat island, data analysis,...) are explained in text, by movies, questions and simulations. The platform is tailored to 3rd grade high school students. The content treats topics from physics, geography, mathematics,... and there are different levels such that the platform is very flexible.
